LBHS Surf Gives All Against San Clemente. Individual Heat Win For Tyson Lockhart
Friday saw Laguna take on San Clemente for the first time this season at T-St. The surf was pretty good in the 3-4ft range and our Surfers gave it their all. While we didn’t take the overall Team Win, we did have some winning results and really good performances.
The Top result for the day was the last heat, which saw Tyson Lockhart in Mens Shortboard secure several good rides and the days only Heat Win. Kiko Nelsen and Ryan Magee looked strong in their heat getting several nice rides including some great tube rides to finish in 2nd and 3rd. In addition Sam Nelsen, Christian Schenk, and Joseph Schenk also surfed well and some nice rides to finish in 3rd. In addition Kiko Nelsen jumped into the longboard to help out and finished 4th.
Our Women surfers in both Shortboard and Longboard have been looking really strong and consistently coming through with Top results and they usually take the overall win, however things were a little tougher then usual against San Clemente and they were edged out for the win. Kalohe Danbara managed to do well on a couple of rides to finish 2nd while Tess Booth and Lilie Kulber didn’t have as strong of back up waves as they would have liked and finished in 4th and 5th. In the Women’s Longboard Scout Mitchell led the way with a 3rd followed by Tess Booth and Jade Howson.
Thank you to all the Parents for coming down and giving the team good cheer and support. The team really appreciates it!
