LBHS SURF TAKES LARGEST WIN AT HOME OVER NEWPORT HARBOR
The Laguna Beach High School Surf Team scored their largest Win today at Thalia against Newport Harbor. Last week we came close and knew we had a good chance today. The waves showed up at Thalia and so did our surfers with a big team effort. Once the total was tabulated we had a 38 point lead, 103 to 65!

In the first heat of the morning our Boys Shortboard came out blazing and we never looked back. Travis Booth took the win with solid surfing, as did Zach Levine and Jett North who finished 2nd and 3rd. The remaining Boys Shortboard continued to charge with each of the heats seeing Laguna kids take wins. Noah North, Jake Levine and Liam McCue all were super strong with wins, while Trey Lockhart and Jeremy Shutts ripped their way to 2nd place finishes and Dante Madrigal came in with a 3rd, Nate Madigan and Dylan Davis finished in 4th.

Our Girls Shortboard and Longboard team once again dominated the competition. In the Shortboard our girls took a clean sweep with, Kayla Coscino taking a win with a 9 out of 10 on one of her rides, Claire Kelly took 2nd and Destiny Thompson 3rd. Meanwhile Lola Fisher took another win in Longboard, while Kayla did double duty and finished nicely in 2nd and Rachel Kenney was 4th.

Our Bodyboarders did well and were led by Cole Fink who finished in 2nd, and Spencer Davis took a 3rd.

While Boys Longboard didn’t come out on top they still surfed well. Ryan Meisberger had a 3rd and Liam Bryant a 4th. Jameson Roller surfed well, but unfortunately was hindered by an interference call.

Thank you to the Cheerleaders showing up with spirit and donuts and the rest of the team and many parents and friends who came down to cheer on the team to their big win!
