LBHS Surf Takes Down St Margaret at Scholastic Surf Series Event #2, Individual Champions Jake Levine and Claire Kelly
We had another Big Win on Sunday at the Scholastic Surf Series Event #2 at T- St in San Clemente. We started out the day with Team competition. Laguna Beach High school faced off against St Margaret. Everyone surfed really well as a team and we took the overall win by a large margin 69-38.

In addition in the individual competition we had representation in each of the division Finals. Our entire Boys six man shortboard team stole the show all making the final! The surf was pretty small and difficult, but after the morning drizzle cleared things heated up. All the Laguna kids were really impressive making good work out of not much. Jake Levine made it two in a row with the win followed closely by Travis Booth in 2nd, Kiko Nelsen in 3rd, Liam McCue in 4th, Holden Geary in 5th and Sam Nelsen in 6th.

Claire Kelly took the big Win in Girls Shortboard, While Destiny Thompson in her first Longboard event and Maya Takabayashi pretty fresh to competition surfed well and finished 4th and 5th respectively. Boys Longboard saw another great performance from Jameson Roller who finished in 3rd. Meanwhile Sam Starr made the semis in Longboard and Joseph Schenk was close to advancement gaining valuable experience.

The Boyboard Final saw Hunter Johnson do really nicely fitting in some rolls to finish in 2nd overall.

The next Scholastic Surf Series event will be January 8.

Thank you to all the Parents who supported us helping put up and take down the tent, providing food and good cheer.
