LBHS Surf Women Shortboard take the League Opener overall Win Against Dana Hills, while Sam Nelsen scored the days only heat win in Mens Shortboard

Last Thursday saw Laguna take on Dana Hills for the league opener at Salt Creek. The surf was pretty good in the 3-4ft range and our Surfers gave it their all. While we didn’t take the overall Team Win, we did win the Women’s Shortboard and had some winning results and top performances along the way.

Our Women shortboard girls had a battle on their hands against a strong Dana team and came away edging them out overall. Tess Booth and Lilie Kulber found a couple of nice sets surfing well to finish 2 and 3. Meanwhile in Longboard Tess also secured a 2ndand Jade Howson took a 3rdboth surfing well.

Sam Nelsen looked very strong on his backside nailing several big turns to secure the only Laguna heat Win in Shortboard. Lucas Jablon was another surfer to really tear apart a good set wave and finished with an impressive 2nd, while the final heat of the day saw Tyson Lockhart do really well to also take 2nd. There was some trouble in the event with non competitors in the lineup and both Kiko Nelsen and Christian Schenk had to battle with contact made and interferences to their rides, causing them to finish with 3rds

The next League event is scheduled for next Thursday October 10 once again against Dana Hills and likely will be at Salt Creek looking at the forecast.

Thank you to all the Parents and friends for coming down to cheer and support the team and Ellen Nelsen for another batch of great action shots in between work.
