LOCKHART AND BOOTH LEAD OUTSTANDING FRESHMAN CHARGE FOR LBHS SURF WIN OVER CAPO VALLEY

The Laguna Beach High School Surf Team had great day today in a non-league scrimmage against Capistrano Valley. Our stellar Freshman class continued looking very impressive with several of them getting wins today in the various divisions. The Boys Longboard were first up and Jameson Roller a Freshman surfed well and took the Win. In the Girls Shortboard again it was our Freshman trio coming up with the goods. Kayla Coscino picked off a nice set wave and pulled off several nice turns to place 1st, while Destiny Thompson took 2nd and Claire Kelly was 3rd. The Girls Longboard saw Megan Mathews take 2nd and Lola Fisher 3rd. In the Boys Bodyboard Cole Fink a Freshman did well and took 2nd. In Boys Shortboard Travis Booth a Freshman opened with a very quick three hit vertical bash wave that scored him a high 8 and the win, while Jake Levine was close behind in 2nd. Next up was Trey Lockhart another Freshman who had a dream heat scoring an 8 and then backed it up with a well deserved 9. He snagged a beautiful set wave and ripped it all the way through finishing in the shore with a competed very tough vertical re-entry. Meanwhile in the same heat Jeremy Shutts did well taking 2nd and Noah North took 3rd. Our Boys continued to roll through the competition in the last few heats with Dante Madrigal taking another solid win, Zach Levine took 2nd, and Freshman Liam McCue had another well surfed heat and a first, while Nate Madigan took 2nd and Jett North was 3rd.

Once again Thank you to all the parents and friends who showed up to support our Laguna kids
